#QBlogger Event - Queensgate

#qblogger queensgate shopping centre

On Friday evening, Queensgate invited me to a rather exiting event they had planned for myself and a group of bloggers' and put us to the test with some fun tasks in the shopping centre.

We were all set tasks that were tailored to our blogs so when I saw Paperchase was part of my assignment, my inner crafter leapt with joy! But before we went on our spree, we were filled in with all the exciting things that are coming to Queensgate very soon, whilst we sipped our cokes in what was actually a pretty nice meeting room! Well done Mc Donald's.

We have a NYX coming to Queensgate on 26th June so keep your eyes peeled for that as I've been told there's a pretty exciting opening happening! There's also rumours of MAC coming too which I know will excite a lot of you.

If you're a foodie, you'll be pleased to know there's also a food court coming, which fills me with pure delight. My ever growing food baby will be most pleased and I can't wait to try ALL the foods!

Another thing to note is that late night shopping isn't just on a Thursday, it's Friday too! Plus parking is free after 5:30 pm so winner winner for all of us office workers.

Anyway onto the tasks at hand.. My first stop was Paperchase, to find out all the best selling summer must haves.

There were so many beautiful themes for Spring summer like this Wild Blossom collection that was so romantic and dreamy!

Paperchase, Queensgate

I then stumbled across the Lets Squawk collection and was instantly drawn to the Blogger's Journal that has everything a blogger needs to organise their schedule, post ideas and more. I so have to go back and grab this!

Another lovely theme was Get Away which instantly made me think of holidays and the seaside. Paperchase have certainly upped the anti this year with lots of homeware included in their range like candles and cushions.

The straw that broke the camel's zebra's back for me was the Serengeti range. I mean, who doesn't want a zebra stapler in their life!? The lovely sales assistant Jack and I were both swooning over the scent of the black amber candle and how we basically wanted everything in the shop!

I spent far too long in Paperchase but with zero regrets and have to say a huge thank you to Jack for showing me all the wonderful ranges in store. Paperchase have just started doing their own craft workshops which is super exciting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they hold one in Queensgate for us all.

Next up I was challenged to find three summer essentials I couldn't live without and made a b-line for Oasis.

I'm soon heading off on my holidays and when I saw these block heeled sandals I thought they'd be perfect. They're just the right heel height to transition from day to night and are super chic, going with pretty much any outfit. The mirror detailing on the inside of the heel gives them a great edge too.

Swimwear is another must have essential for any summer holiday and I fell in love with the print of this bikini in Oasis. The palmhouse bandea is the perfect beach bikini and paired with this matching jumpsuit I've since found on the website, it makes for a perfect holiday outfit.

Running low on time, I popped into Marks and Spencer's for my final summer essential which just had to be this bag. Taken from the Indigo Collection, this duffle bag is the perfect companion for a summer traveller. Teamed with a straw hat and some denim, this bag is just gorgeous and I've been lusting after it ever since! Everyone needs a great bag for summer and this is the one for me.

Before I knew it, the clock had struck eight and like Ciderella, it was time to leave the Queensgate ball. There were so many other shops I would have loved to venture into like Tiger, Accessorize, Lush and River Island but time ran away with me.

I met up with fellow bloggers Laura, Sophie and Emily for a late dinner at Handmade Burger Company with complimentary vouchers*.

We'd all been to different shops, so it was exciting to hear what everyone else had got up to during the event. The burgers were well received as this was the only time we stopped the chatter!

We finally parted ways at around 10:30 and all agreed it had been a fantastic event but the excitment didn't stop there as we had been very kindly gifted a goody bag each from various Queensgate retailers.

Queensgate blogger event #qblogger

I received so many lovely goodies from the likes of Tiger, Carluccio's, Lakeland, Body Shop, Boots, Paperchase, Lush and more. I can't wait to try them all out and feature them in future blog posts!

So that leaves me to say a HUGE thank you to Queensgate for inviting me to their event, it's one of my favourites I've attended and I can't wait to see what's in store next for the shopping centre!

I also vlogged the event so be sure to check out the video for more insight on how the evening went!

Are you excited for the new stores coming our way?

Fuck it if they talk

Jacket- All Saints (old)
Sunglasses- Primark

Photos by Clashing Time

Okay first of all can we all just take a moment to appreciate the quality of Pippa's camera? I have serious camera envy people! She's also a beaut for taking some outfit snaps for me too.

You may recognise this swing dress from my Cali Beach Vibes post back in January. I told you it was versatile! I basically threw this outfit on in a blind panic for an event and it proved to be a good choice what with the weather being hot and cold during spring. The All Saints Jacket and aviators add to the grungey girl look me thinks. God I love that jacket- total investment that has definitely paid off. If you want a beautiful leather jacket, look no further than All Saints. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Absofuckinglutely.

I know this isn't a particularly colourful spring look but to be honest I don't even care.

Peace out.

Dress- American Eagle
Boots- New Look
Jacket- All Saints
Bag- TK Maxx
Scarf- Local market
Ring- Topshop

Is anyone else itching for spring now? I’m bored of wearing warm coats so opted for my leather jacket with this outfit. It was a bit nippy I must admit but it looks nice and I wasn’t spending too long outside. I’ve had this All Saints jacket for years but it still looks great. Yes All Saints leather jackets are expensive but they last, look good and are a real investment! Justification made right there! You might recognise my dress from a post I did in January (see here) which just goes to show how versatile it is. I’ll be rocking all seasons that’s for sure. I’m also currently OBSESSED with a red lip and this tartan scarf I picked up on a local market look great with it. Just a touch of tartan does nicely.

Check out the video below for more of this look:

Anyway, what are you wearing this month? Are you also getting fed up of your big winter coats?

After my recent haul, there's no surprise that I want to style all my new and shiny things! I am literally obsessed with these New Look  boots. They're a better version of the pair I lusted over in my AW14 Wants and Needs post (see here) as they're real leather and make your legs look super slim and elegant. The heel is the perfect size too!

Hats have been a huge trend all year and paired with an oversized knitted cardi it's the perfect casual chic combination.

Autumn Hair- The braided headband

photo of braided headband

photo of braided headband

photo of braided headband

Braids have been a big trend this year, with milkmaid and fishtail styles being at the forefront. I really did adore milkmaid braids but with no fringe and a larger forehead, I found them hard to pull off!

As Autumn is well and truly here, I thought I'd continue the braid trend into the winter months, so whilst playing around with my hair one morning, I came up with this! It's kind of similar to the crown braids but simpler and only spans half way round your head. It consists of a plait each side of your head, crossing over and being pinned on the other side. Easy Peasy!

I think it's a really pretty autumnal alternative to foral crowns and would look lovely with a wool hat propped above it. It's also a great style if you're like me and have hair ll one length to add a bit of interest to your hair.

What do you think to this style? Are you rocking anything different for AW14?

AW14 Wants and Needs

1. eBay Grey denim acid wash tunic dress

2. New Look black chunky Chelsea boot

3. River Island Full Time Blogger Sweatshirt

4. Topshop flower beaded crop tee

5. River Island Kimono

6. Missguided Monochrom collared shirt dress

7. New Look tan leather multi strap boot

8. ASOS cold shoulder smock dress

9. New Look Burgundy Hogwarts jumper

I've never done one of these posts before but then again I've never been so excited for autumn! I've recently fallen back in love with Pinterest and whilst excitedly browsing the interweb for my autumn wardrobe, I thought I'd make a board of AW14 wants and needs.

I particularly need/want/lusting after those New Look heeled Chelsea boots as I think they'd be perfect for day and night. I had a pair similar but after lending them to my sister they got eaten by dogs (don't ask) so I'm in need of a new pair! I'm always desperate for the grey denim tunic. I don't know what it is about grey denim but I'm currently in love with it. I think it'd look amazing with back and burgundy and of course those Chelsea boots!

I'm not a partiularly practical dresser but decided I need some sweatshirts so if I'm going to wear them they've got to be awesome! As I'm technically a full-time blogger just now, the River Island sweatshirt is rather fitting and the Hogwarts one? Well...I'm a massive Harry Potter geek and when I saw this I literally squealed and showed Chris in excitement. If I don't treat myself to it it'll definitely be on the Christmas list!

I'm also loving swing dresses and smock dresses quite a lot at the moment. They're just so comfy and I like the big baggy shape with tights and a pair of boots. I think this will more than likely be my look for AW14!

As for the other bits they're just pretty things really- need I say more? I'm constantly adding to this Pniterest board so make sure you check it out and follow me if it's up your street.

What are your AW14 wants and needs?

Lunches in Larnaca and OOTD

How is everyone so far in September? I hope the weather is still nice in the UK? I'm due back at the end of the month, yippee! In the mean time Chris & I have been doing our last bits of exploring the island of Cyprus and today we took a trip to Larnaca.

Shorts- F&F Tesco
Top- Primark
Sunglasses- Primark
Sandals- Vivienne Westwood
Bag- Vintage
Belt- Primark

Larnaca isn't like the side of the island I live- it's pretty and feels more Greek than Limassol. It's also not as touristy as places like Paphos which is quite refreshing. The beach front is beautiful with lots of little cafes around, largely coffee shops. Who wants to drink coffee in this heat!? Anyway we stopped at one for a drink and I got a lovely wild berry smoothie. It was seriously delish! If you walk a bit further down there's the marina which again is very pretty and had lots of lovely restaurants with picturesque views of the sea. We stopped at one for our lunch and both ordered the prawn salad which was seafood heaven and so filling!

It's still super hot here so I opted for an easy pair of shorts and a bandeau top. I hate getting strap marks when sight seeing so a bandeau is a must and these shorts are so comfy and easy to wear! If truth be told I can't really be arsed with really put together outfits on scorching days like this- keep it simple.

Also thank you to my lovely hubby for the outfit pics! He hates doing it but I really appreciate it!

Have you visited Larnaca or Cyprus in general?

Check out my outfit video below!
