The #BloggersBall 2016 | Scarlett London Events

#BloggersBall 2016

It doesn’t feel like five minutes ago since I was telling you about Scarlett’s 2015 bloggers festival but here we are in June and yet again she has put on another fabulous blogging event.

#BloggersBall 2016

Held in the swanky DSKRT venue, the event was choc a bloc with exciting brands new and returning and lots of enthusiastic bloggers snapping away.

#BloggersBall 2016

I went to the event with fellow #cambmeetup bloggers and Peterborough Bloggers Laura, Pippa, Sophie, Beth and hubby Chris; meeting the lovely Sophie and Beth for the very first time. As the event was themed a “ball” I decided it was the perfect excuse to dress up and was in awe of so many other blogger’s style and outfits.

I felt a bit more laid back this year and decided to take my time and chat to the brands I really wanted to speak to – some of those being Jody Bell, WD and Bon Prix. As soon as I saw Jody Bell were at the event I made a b- line to speak to them, being so blown away by the gorgeous photo shoot they recently did with Scarlett.

Their couture pieces were just stunning and Melanie told us lots of great information on the brand and Jody herself. The fabric of each garment was remarkable quality with beautiful patterns and we were invited to try on the sample pieces which I would have done had I not been in layers upon layers of tulle skirt!

WD were a brand I’d never come across before, with some great techy items for bloggers. If you’re already a blogger I’m sure you will already own an external hard drive for the thousands of photographs we’re all obsessed with taking – am I right? WD had hard drives available that are Wi-Fi enabled, meaning you can transfer your images straight on to the hard drive from your SD card via the slot within the hard drive! From there you can transfer images onto your phone which is perfect for Instagram or blogging on the go and making sure you have enough space on your SD card for snapping away. It’s ingenious especially if you’re away travelling as they’re very compact and light weight to pack and their prices were really reasonable. I’ve already added one to my Christmas list.

In between chatting to brands it was nice to head to the lounge area and catch up with blogging pals. Canapes and drinks were being served which really made for a relaxed feel and it was nice to people watch and see everyone enjoying themselves and meeting new friends.

Speaking of new friends, I met the lovely Sally O’Kelly from The Make-Up Directory for the first time after spotting her in the street on route to the event. I felt like such a stalker tapping her on the shoulder and saying “Hi, are you Sally from The Makeup Directory?”  but I’m so pleased I did as she’s as lovely in real life as she is on her blog and I loved spending the day with her. This for me is one of the huge perks of being part of the blogging community and attending these types of events.

#BloggersBall 2016

Returning to the main event, I went and spoke to Bon Prix who I love seeing year after year at Scarlett’s events. I’ve had the privilege of working with them on their Bon Prix advent calendar last Christmas and find them really fun and creative to work with. They were holding a competition to win one of their summer pieces by posing in their Instagram postcard and a raffle for prizes on their website too.

I also loved seeing some gourmet food brands at this year.  Being a huge cider lover, it was great to speak with Luscombe and try their exceedingly refreshing selection. The raspberry was gorgeously sharp and sweet and they were also trying to convince people to holiday in the Devon area. I didn’t take much persuasion that’s for sure!

#BloggersBall 2016

Roam & Relish had the most deliciously cured beef I think I’ve ever tried. Starting off providing raw meats, they have branched out to produce beautifully cured meat sent directly to you in the post.  These brands went down particularly well with my blogger husband Beers Bikes and Bistro who attended as well as other male bloggers. It made a change to see some guys dotted in the crowds of females! Chris was also very excited to see Monin at the event, being an avid coffee lover and Seed and Bean with their chocolate infused with flavours such as fennel, raspberry and mocha. It truly was a taste sensation!

#BloggersBall 2016

There were lots of other brands at the event from On the Dot to So…? , Vatika, Boho Betty, Jeweley Box and lots morebut I didn’t get a chance to speak to everyone.

Before I knew it the event was finished and it was time to leave. It always amazes me how fast the time goes at these things but it goes to show how fun they are too. We all decided to head for drinks after and of course take outfit pictures which are coming soon. Watch this space…

#BloggersBall 2016

If you haven’t attended one of Scarlett’s events, I’d highly recommend that you do. It doesn’t matter if your blog is big or small, new or old – everyone is welcome and it’s a great way to meet like minded people with the same passion for writing. Don’t be afraid to come on your own either. I guarantee someone will tap you on the shoulder and ask “are you _____ from ______ blog?” and equally, don’t be afraid to be that shoulder tapping person.

As always, I took my vlogging camera so check out the video below:

The next event is Scarlett's annual #Bloggers Festival on Saturday 3rd September so keep your eyes peeled for that!

A white dress in the summer is my Achilles heel and I think I've found the perfect one.

Whilst on our French vacation (which you can read about here), we popped into the local town and I found myself in a shop called Pimkie. They had some lovely pieces and I couldn't help but pick up this little beauty for the warm weather.

The floaty white cheesecloth material would be perfect with a pair of strappy heels and a clutch for an evening and is an easy to wear day dress with a big tote bag and some sandals. Love love love! My obsession with all things bardot it also growing. I think I may have a problem but this cut of dress or top is so flattering and suits literally everyone.

Have you embraced a bardot yet or found your perfect white dress?

The Lush Life

Lush is my go-to shop for a beautiful bath bomb or any kind of bath product for that matter, but what I didn't realise was just how many other products they provide.

Recently I attended a blogger's event at Lush in Peterborough with fellow local bloggers to find out what's on offer in the highly scented store.

Did you know Lush have toothpaste tablets!? Yup, just pop one in your gob, crush it up and brush away! They even had other flavours that taste like cherry colar bottles and more. I'd never even realised that they did oral hygiene products and even have solid deodorant with antibacterial properties and powder deodorants too to keep you smelling fresh and are gentle to you too.

Another product I was introduced to were massage bars. There are so many benefits from massage such as aiding sleep, soothing tired muscles and general relaxation, making you feel generally better in body and soul. Lush have a huge variety of scented bars that melt to the touch, making them easy to work into the skin.

We were shown lots of lovely smelling products and I was particularly drawn to these lip scrubs, smelling like bubblegum and popcorn! The Lush team had so much knowledge of what the products do, how they're made and their benefits with so much enthusiasm for their products which just goes to show they love what they do and love their products.

During the event I was of course swooning at the pretty products and amazing scents throughout the store and had to give everything a smell or a try!

Soon we had seen all the products on offer and the Lush team were demonstrating how their face masks are made - proving just how fresh and handmade they really are.

The lovely ladies made a batch of "Catastrophie Cosmetic"; a soothing, cleansing and moisturising mask for all skin types. As you can see there were fresh blueberries in the mix and we were offered to nibble on some before they were thrown into the mix. The smell of the mask was incredible and lasts up to two weeks when kept refrigerated. That's got to be better for our skin than processed products and since using it I have to say my skin has really enjoyed it!

Another thing I discovered is that Lush have their own spas dotted around the country with what sound like the ultimate relaxation and pampering. I am definitely looking to indulge in one of their treatments because they sound incredible and a lot of thought has been put into creating the ultimate relaxation treatments. We were told about The Sound Bath by Lisa of the Lush team who'd experienced it - a meditative and rebalancing treatment which sounded like heaven.

There are lots of wonderful masks to choose from, with skin treats for all and showcased in a bath of ice as Lush don't like to hide their products away in the fridge and rightly so! It's lovely to see just what goes into their products and if they say strawberries (for instance) go into one of their products, it's not just an extract, oh no... We're talking punnets people!

We were then treated to a hand and arm massage each. Here's the gorgeous Georgina from 2 Pretty Ladies being pampered. I was amazed at just how relaxing it was compared with a back massage which for me is the ultimate heaven and soon I was feeling very dreamy.

We then had a demonstration on their famous bath bombs which are my favourite Lush product and make any bath a magical and luxurious experience.

Lush also have the most gorgeous gift sets, wrapped in the prettiest paper and are perfect for any bath and beauty lover. I always have Lush on my birthday list and have never been disappointed.

I picked up some lovelies goodies* from the event and also picked up some bits too!

So if you haven't already tried Lush, my question to you is why not? All of the products are free from animal testing, fresh, handmade and where possible it's free from packaging! They're a truly fantastic brand and one I've become even more of a fan of than I was before.

Don't be shy to ask for advice in store because the Lush team are so knowledgeable and helpful -  you won't be disappointed.

Live the Lush Life.

Its been a long time since I've worn a dress that's made me feel like a "real lady" until this little beaut, which was perfect for a date night during our stay in France.

The dress really speaks for itself  with the lace detailing and midi length to swoosh in. All I did was pair it with some nude heels and some dainty jewellery and I was ready to go.

This outfit with our beautiful surroundings in France (which you can read about here), made me never want to come home.

This is where to reach me now.
