Pumpkin Picking at Bell's Pumpkin Patch

Autumn is one of my favourite seasons. The falling leaves, the changing colours and of course- pumpkin picking! I've found the best kept secret when it comes to pumpkin patches, nestled in Lincolnshire and know as Bell's Pumpkin Patch.

Bell's Pumpkin Patch

I've been to Bell's Pumpkin patch a couple of times over the past few years and felt I had to share it with you. With covid ongoing, this year they have made the patch ticketed to ensure people stay safe and this popular patch doesn't become over saturated. Tickets are £4 or £15 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children.

So what can you expect from Bell's? The pumpkin festival has certainly come on leaps and bounds over the past few years, with more areas to explore and more beautiful displays.

As you can see the displays are just beautiful! They make for the perfect photo opportunity, with lots of families posing in front of displays with their families and even couples with their doggos! I loved seeing the grey and white display too which gave me lots of ideas on how to add some autumnal decor to my grey home!

As you're led through the displays, you then enter the patch so Harry and I grabbed our wheel barrow to get involved .

The outside area is lovely and large with plenty of space to social distance but also just enjoy some fresh air. This is where the atmosphere is with singing pumpkins, a pumpkin cannon, hay bales to climb , obstacle courses, face painting, a Halloween shop, plus further displays and photo opportunities.

Another big plus to the patch is that it's dog friendly so you can get that lovely family photo and pick a pumpkin with your favourite four legged companion. Harry loved the smells and exploring in the mud. That's another thing- bring your wellies!!

Once we'd picked a perfect pumpkin, we stopped for some food. The food trucks had some amazing choices and even baileys hot chocolate for us adults- the perfect way to warm up. And if there's a small rain shower? There's shelter dotted around to take cover too which is a plus!

Having warmed up I went and met "Harold" the pumpkin blaster! If you fancy practicing your target practice, you can do so with aiming a pumpkin at the target in the next field. I was shocking but we'll gloss over that...

Having thought we'd done the patch I then saw this area and realised they have a maise maze!

It took us a while to get our bearings, with lots of twists and turns but soon we found the exit!

Our final stop was the shop. With lots of pumpkins and gourds to choose from! It was set out like a little autumnal market and even had recipe ideas dotted around for inspiration on how to cook your squashes. I hadn't quite realised the amount of different types of pumpkins and squashes! Bell's Gardening Outlet have around 1 million pumpkins produced each year for their festival too!

I was blown away by Bell's Pumpkin patch this year. They have put an incredible amount of hard work and effort into making the patch fun and accessible for anyone and any age too! It's a lovely place to take the family for an afternoon or go for a date with your other half, before heading home to carve your pumpkin ready for Halloween. From a 2020 perspective, it's also a lovely place to get outside in the fresh air and get some head space away from whats been going on this year which I think everyone can appreciate.
