100 Happy Days Challenge

Recently I completed the 100 Happy Days challenge. My sister originally introduced me to it and I decided to start it on 1st January.

100 happy days
Image source: 100happydays.com

The challenge is easy. You sign up to 100happydays.com and then post a photo each day of something that made you happy on a social media site of your choice, using the hashtag #100happydyas and a hashtag of your own. Mine was #100hapydaysofkat. The photo you post can be anything from a song to a feeling as long as it made you happy- simple!

According to 100happydays.com 71% of people fail at this challenge, the main excuse being not enough time. I actually find this really sad. Surely there was some happiness in their day? Do you really not have time to be happy!?  Even on the shittiest of days I found at least one happy and positive thing that made me smile. Maybe not outwardly but definitely on the inside and that's what the challenge is about. You learn to appreciate the little things and become happier and more positive in the process.

I chose Instagram as my social media platform to post my photographs and I'll admit it not all a lot of my photographs weren't "Instagram worthy" - perfectly posed with perfect lighting and what not but thats honestly not the point of the challenge. The challenge is for you, not anybody else.

According to the 100 Happy Days website:

"People successfully completing the challenge claimed to:
– Start noticing what makes them happy every day;
– Be in a better mood every day;
– Start receiving more compliments from other people;
– Realize how lucky they are to have the life they have;
– Become more optimistic;
– Fall in love during the challenge."

I definitely noticed my mood was a lot better and realised how lucky I am to have what I have in life and would highly recommend everyone give this challenge a go.

At the end of the challenge if you post your story on 100happydays.com you can get your 100 happy moments printed. It's a lovely memento and I'm thinking of putting mine into an album or frame as a cheerful reminder.

So will you be giving the challenge a go? #100happydaysdone

The Positivity Tag

the positivity tag

Every once in a while we all need to remember to be positive so I thought I'd have a go at the positivity tag!

The questions...
1. Name three things in your life that make you feel happy and positive
2. What do you do to try and be more positive?
3.What do you like to do to relax?
4. What is your favourite positive quote?
5. Everybody has a part of their body that they dislike. Say something positive about yours
6. Who are your positive role models?
7. Who should do this tag next?

Have you done this tag? Why not give it a go?

The #SLBloggerBash

A few weeks ago I attended my first London bloggers' event with the gorgeous Pippa of Clashing Time . The #SLBloggerBash was held at 1 Alfred Place in Soho and was a wonderful mix of fashion, lifestyle, beauty, food and travel. When we arrived we were greeted by the lovely Scarlett of Scarlett London who planned the event with Search Laboratory and were treated to delicious canapés and a glass of wine. Laaaarvly!

Brands such as Urban Outfitters were there, (a firm favourite in the house of Rayment) with some VIP vouchers and goody bags. The selection of clothes showcased were gorgeous as always and I was very intrigued by their newly launched beauty line! Quiz Clothing gave us the opportunity to find our inner prom queens and take selfies with tiaras. How could any girl resist? Their array of beautiful dresses are perfect for any prom or special occasion. Wynsors were there with their wellies in force- perfect for the upcoming festival season and had lots to give away. I was one of the lucky ones who received a goody bag full of lovely treats and a Nikon camera was up for grabs. Tuscany Now were a brand I was particularly intrigued by with their wine tasting competition which I like to think I did rather well at haha. They are a specialist villa rentals company with the most stunning in Italy and Tuscany. Well worth a browse on their website if you're looking to get away to somewhere gorgeous.

I fell in love with the blogger bake stall. The cakes looked and tasted amazing! I'm glad I never attempted to bake as my feeble attempts of turd shaped icing would have been embarassing next to these works of art. There was a Ferrero Rocher tree for god sake!

With roughly 100 bloggers in attendance it was great to mingle and chat to like minded people all with a common interest of blogging. It's so refreshing to talk to people who understand blogging and enjoy it too as my close friends don't really understand it or why I like doing it. Everyone was so friendly and easy to chat to, making it a wonderful atmosphere to be a part of. I am so chuffed I got to attend and meet so many lovely people.

I also did a bit of vlogging at the event. Click below:

Thank you to Scarlett and Search Laboratory for putting on such a fantastic event and I look forward to the next one!

You've changed for the better

classic casual evening outfit

what to wear for a smart casual night out

how to dress up jeans

chic and classic jeans outfit

a classic jeans and white t-shirt combination

what to wear for cocktails

Laydey Katabella
Jacket- H&M (similar here)
Tee- H&M
Heels- eBay
Jewellery- Thomas Sabo & Handmade

I have definitely changed... Take me back a couple of years ago and I wouldn't be seen DEAD in a pair of jeans, let alone for a night out! These jeans however are to die for as they are honestly the comfiest and best fitting jeans I have ever owned. The denim is so soft, they're just a dream. My style is definitely evolving as I'm getting older. I'm not such a spring chicken at 26 but I like to think my style is getting better? Like a fine wine maybe? Gone are the days of living in leggings and band tees at grotty venues- say hello to chic evening lady outfits and cocktails! (Okay so maybe I do go to gigs still but not like I used to.) I really do believe though that a simple white t-shirt, jeans and a blazer are a classic combination. You can't really go wrong!

Has your style changed a lot over the years?
