Lets take a walk and have a talk

She's A Gentry

Looking through these photos now I look over dressed for this freakish weather we're having! As lovely as it is to feel the sun on my bones I can't help but fret a little about the state of global warming. Is it just me? Alas the cooler weather will come again I'm sure...

The one thing I am extremely pleased about though is the lighter evenings- a phenomenon not linked to global warming but to the fact it's almost spring. Soon I'll be able to walk the doggo of an evening in the light rather than in the pitch black with a head torch on through fields- something that to be honest I'm too chicken to do so I leave it for Chris to endure! That and with working shifts he can walk Harry in the day but I do feel guilty that I haven't been doing my bit so much over winter.

With all this in mind I have been thinking about exercise recently... It's something I literally avoid like the plague because I despise it but I know it would benefit me massively with posture, flexability and general aches and pains that have been creeping in as the years tick on. Does anyone have any recommendations for fun exercise that doesn't make you feel like you're in hell whilst doing it? I tried running a while back but I didn't really enjoy it and I'm a shy exerciser/ I'm talking myself out of it just thinking about it! Either way I need to get my arse in gear and I think I'll try a spot of cycling to ease me into it.

So what's new with you? I've been trying really hard to be less busy this year and so far so good- I'm taking things in my stride and really enjoying spending lots of time at  home. Last year was so insanely manic that I've pretty much gone the opposite way this year and made no plans. I don't even know where or when I'm taking a holiday this year because I literally can't decide/ I feel really unmotivated to make plans! It's quite nice to enjoy the simple life and I've found time to do more of my hobbies and what I love so that's the main thing.

Anyway I'm waffling again about anything and everything so we'll leave it there for this week. I might don this outfit a bit more once the weather has calmed down and realised it's still winter! What are you wearing at the moment?

Think Pink this spring

The other day I opened my wardrobe and thought fuck... Shall I just roll over and die already? Everything in sight looked drab, tired and a little bit too safe. Saving for a mortgage had taken its toll on my wardrobe and it showed. I put on a piece of knit wear, looked in the mirror and though Jesus, I look older than my gran. Because of this, I decided to jazz up my wardrobe somewhat and to the extreme with my new favourite spring piece- the pink jacket.

I've been taking style inspiration recently from my friend and fellow blogger Sian of Style With Friends and these silver boots in one of her recent posts and fab pink jacket (see here.) They really caught my magpie eye and tempted me into the pink and metallic trend. With that in mind, I've put my own take on the look with this ensemble.

This coat was a total steal at £12 in the Boohoo sale and will keep me warm whilst giving a nod to spring being here. It's easy to pair with converse for the day or a black dress and boots for the night- I'm in love!

I'm also super chuffed that I found this location to shoot. It's amazing where you can discover on dog walks. Harry quite liked it too!

I'm planning on taking some more outfit shots in this place very very soon and maybe even a look book so watch this space...

You've changed for the better

I have definitely changed... Take me back a couple of years ago and I wouldn't be seen DEAD in a pair of jeans, let alone for a night out! These jeans however are to die for as they are honestly the comfiest and best fitting jeans I have ever owned. The denim is so soft, they're just a dream. My style is definitely evolving as I'm getting older. I'm not such a spring chicken at 26 but I like to think my style is getting better? Like a fine wine maybe? Gone are the days of living in leggings and band tees at grotty venues- say hello to chic evening lady outfits and cocktails! (Okay so maybe I do go to gigs still but not like I used to.) I really do believe though that a simple white t-shirt, jeans and a blazer are a classic combination. You can't really go wrong!

Has your style changed a lot over the years?

I've worn this outfit on a couple of occasions now and you may recognise it from the #cambsmeetup blogger event I recently attended. It feels really 70s to me and I kinda like that. I feel like I should dig out some Thin Lizzy to play, (hmm maybe not,) I'm a bit obsessed with smocks at the moment and think this will be a great versatile piece to take me from spring to summer. I can see bare legs, tanned boots and a denim waistcoat being worn when the weather gets a bit warmer! In the meantime I've fallen back in love with the floppy blogger hat and my trusty black boots.

Check out the video to see more of me prancing about in this outfit!

Are you diggin the 70s trend for spring summer?

So much for the City | Outfit of the Day

Hello lovelies. Today's outfit is one of my current favourites and a really easy go-to outfit for some comfy style.
Maxi Dress- Primark
Sleeveless jacket- Primark
Sandals- Primark
Jeweller- various & home made
Belt- Primark
Necklaces- Fiona Jones Jewellery & Topshop
Ring- Topshop

I'm rather aware that this outfit is almost head to toe Primark but I've been really impresed with their summer pieces this year! Maxi dresses are so comfy and easy to wear on hot summer days and the tie dye print gives it more of a grungy feel which I love.

What are you wearing in the heat this summer?
