One Friday we ventured to the close by county of Suffolk for a little weekend retreat at the wonderful Dove Cottage.
We were welcomed by beautiful fresh blooms, home made cakes and wine. The cottage itself was cosy yet modern and split over two levels with the spacious living area upstairs, bringing in lots of beautiful sunlight.
Soon we were settling down by the cosy log fire with our friends and doggies, catching up and putting the world to rights in our home from home. We felt so welcome and relaxed in this converted stables cottage and I think the dogs did too. One of the great features was the fact it was dog friendly and at no additional cost. It made the perfect base for a weekend of long walks and hearty food.
With only being 8 miles away from Southwold, it would have been a crime not to visit after being told its a quaint and very pretty seaside town. I fell in love with the beach huts and the dogs fell in love with the salty sea and sand!
All in all our weekend retreat was a success and I still miss the cottage now. I can see me going back there and maybe even for a Christmas break - who knows.
