Oh Hello Yellow | An Outfit for Hot Summer Days

With the weather being exceptionally sticky for the most part this summer, I needed a dress that would just flow and fit whilst being comfy AF and I think I've found the one!

This mellow yellow mustard beauty spoke to me on the Matalan website and I just had to have it. It's shirred bardot top is perfect for securing lady lumps without the need for a clinging bra- I mean, who wants to wear a bra when its 30+ degrees outside?!

It's honestly the comfiest thing, being 100% cotton and easy just to chuck on for hot summer days. My yellow obsession is real so I paired it with my mustard yellow bag from Accessorize but it would equally look lush with a straw bag, straw hat or even some tan wedges for more of an evening look!

Earrings- Boohoo
Sandals (old)- Vivienne Westwood

Can you believe these photos were taken in the UK? I honestly don't know what is happenin with the weather lately but I can't complain and discovering this beaut of a place know as Tapeley Park with its beautiful gardens was such a treat. There's also a lake, cattle grazing in the hectares of land and a sustainable organic vegetable garden!

The house itself is also stunning and you're even able to take your own picnic! There is of course the option to have a cream tea in the cafe which is what we went for and sat on the quaint iron chairs overlooking the gardens. It was pure bliss and I'd highly recommend a visit to anyone looking for a gorgeous day out and/or stunning scenery for photographs!

What is your must have piece of clothing for this hot and sticky weather? And where are you loving go for days out this summer?

Last week I went to visit my blogging vlogging pals Pippa from Clashing Time  and Cara from Polly Pocket Beauty who have recently moved in together in London. We'd arranged to take some outfit shots in their area and who knew that the location they had in mind would match perfectly with the outfift I had chosen!?

I know typical AW colours are burgundy, mustard, khakis etc but I am still feeling pink so much right now. It's become a bit of an unhealthy obsession; that and rose gold (every bloggers weakeness!) The fur stole adds to the cosy winter feel as well as the wool coat which is in the sale on Boohoo at the mo.

My bag is a little Matalan number and everyone always says how lovely it is. I love the colour but I have to say the quality is not there as after only a few months the faux leather straps are starting to break *sob*.

I'm also obsessed with smocks at the moment. I wore my gingham one all through summer and now I'm all about layering them with thick tights and leggings to see me through the winter. This pink number is in the sale on the New Look website and flatters a curvier figure like mine; skimming over the tummy area hurrah!

Pippa took these photos and I have to say she's done a fabulous job, even if we did get told to "get away!" by the old lady whose house it was. Whoops!

And on that note I'm off. I hope you're enjoying the outfit posts of late. I've got some upcycling. DIY home projects coming veeeery very soon. I'm just waiting to finish them so stay tuned!

Are you back to the dark colours for AW17 or are you braving a bright colour?

On a Wet Wednesday

Who'd have thought this time last week was beautiful sunshine and shorts weather in the UK- being so hot some people of the British public were complaining! Fast forward a week and it's back to the usual wind. rain and wet wet wet.

Jacket and blouse- Matalan
Jeans- F&F
Shoes- H&M
Bag- Radley

The peeks of blooms are stopping my spirits from being dampened and I'm still wearing a pop of colour in my top and tassels of my shoes to keep me in the summertime zone.

I bought these suede flats last year from H&M's premium range. I have to say you can really tell the quality from their usual range with them being real suede and also extremely comfy. I haven't quite jumped on the mini bag trend but my small Radley is a nod in the right direction and surprisingly roomy for it's size.

I hope your week is going well so far. We've made it to half way through the week so it's got to get better from here, plus there's talks of sunshine appearing in time for the weekend!

I feel like this post has turned into a weather forecast slightly so on that note- Ta ra for now!

Dress For Success: The interview outfit on a budget

Jacket- M&S
Top- Matalan
Trousers- Matalan (similar here)
Shoes- Matalan
Necklace- Primark

Recently I had that scary joy task that is a job interview. Never really feeling comfortable in formal clothes, a fitted dress and heels was a big no no so I opted for something comfortable but smart for the occasion.

To me, there's nothing more dull than an all black or grey outfit. Give your outfit a bit of personality and oomph with a "pop" of colour (that phrase makes me cringe) which instantly cheers up a drab interview get up. And why not add a statement necklace? It doesn't need to be bling, just enough to bring a bit of interest and modernism to the typical interview ensemble.

Most of my outfit came from Matalan who pleasantly surprised me with their array of formal attire in various cuts and shapes. It's real value for money whilst still looking smart and modern- bargain!

Dressing for success is really important, as looking the part will certainly make you feel 100 times better about the interview process. Definitely give Matalan a look if you're after an interview outfit on a budget.

I can happily say I got the job too, yay!

Outfit Of the Day | Cosmic Love

Top- Matalan
Skirt- New Look
Sandals- Vivienne Westwood
Bracelets- gifts
Rings shop dixi
Necklace- Black Tied

I thought I'd do another outfit post this week and I have to say I am totally in love with the colour theme I've got going on. I have a thing for purpley/blue tones at the moment in case you haven't guessed. This outfit gives a hippie bohemian feel with the floaty pieces and floral crown, mixed in with a bit of cosmic print. I'm absolutely in love with this Black Tied necklace I recently purchased. If you know me you'll know I love shiny shiny things and this swarovski crystal twinkles and shines so beautifully in the light! It really compliments the cosmic print too! The floral head piece I made last summer and was super easy so if you want to see how I made it click here or check out the how to video on my Youtube channel here. Yes this outfit is rather summery but it's been lovely and warm over in Cyprus so I couldn't resist doing a summery outfit post- sorry UK peeps.

Don't forget to check out the video here too:

What are you wearing this spring?
