Pet food convenience- ordering your pet food online with PetShop.co.uk

Pet food c/o PetShop.co.uk

Like most pet parents I love to spoil my cat Zara and dog Harry who I rescued whilst living in Cyprus. If you don't already know we found the cat in a car park and our dog was due to be put down at the local pound because they were full! Since then we have given them lots of love and affection and I'm always on the look out for new products to treat them to. PetShop.co.uk are an online pet supplies website with a delivery service which is fantastic. I'm forever running out of pet food last minute and hurling big bags of food around is a struggle for me (hubby ends up doing it lets be honest). As well as having a great variety and range of brands to choose from they also provide a bottomless bowl service so you can re-order for a schedule that suits you. No more running out of pet food! Harry and Zara have been lucky enough to be sent some food and after opening it for them (damn those opposable thumbs) they were very excited to try!

First off the delivery from PetShop.co.uk was super speedy and arrived the day after ordering- perfect if you suddenly realise you're running low on pet food. It was also packaged really well so there's no worry of anything getting damaged in transit.

As you can probably guess from the photos, Zara was rather curious of the new food at first but it didn't take long before she was chowing down. She was sent Felix Cat Food which contains balanced minerals, a source of Omega 6 and vitamins D & E- all the things your cat needs on a daily basis. It must be delicious to our feline friends as Zara gobbled it down pretty quickly!  She also tried the Harringtons Cat Food which is a great brand for natural wholesome pet food and happily snacked away at this throughout the day between naps. It's a hard life!

I have to say I was particularly impressed with this brand and Harry was too. As soon as I opened the bag and he got a sniff of the food his tale was wagging excitedly. He's normally the type of dog to graze little and often throughout the day (I have no idea if that's the norm or not) but when I set down the bowl he started chowing down at a rate of knots and it was gone!

The reason I particularly like the Huntland Grain Free is because of their philosophy, stating that their food is developed based on the principle that dogs are natural hunters and their digestive systems are designed for a grain free diet. Perfect for my very active working breed springer spaniel. Made in Britain, this bag contained Scottish Loch Salmon with River Trout & Sweet Potato and is freshly prepared with natural ingredients. It's also vet approved for all breeds so you know your dog is getting a quality meal. Harry has been thoroughly enjoying this and can't wait to try the other flavours. I've also noticed a significant improvement in his coat since he's been eating the Huntland Grain Free. It's a lot shinier in appearance he looks generally healthier.

The verdict from Harry and Zara is a 5 out of 5 on the food and delivery from Petshop.co.uk .  I would highly recommend using their delivery service as it's free on orders over £19.99 and they even deliver on Saturdays- perfect if you're like me and have a hectic schedule.

Have you tried petshop.co.uk? What do your pets enjoy eating?

We received a box of goodies from Pet Shop Bowl at no charge in exchange for our honest and fair review of their products. All opinions expressed here are our own and truthful.

The Sunday Post- Lazy Weekend

This week Chris is away in the UK so I'm on my tod for the first time since we moved to Cyprus so what better to do on the weekend? Be lazy and enjoy the sun!

Sometimes it's nice to just kick back and enjoy being at home, especially with my gorgeous pets Harry & Zara (royal names not intended) to keep me company. I'm really into reading at the moment and loving Dawn French novels. She's such a fantastic writer, I love her style and she has me in fits of laughter as well as tears! I'm also loving that the temperature has risen here so our pool is ready to use and isn't too cold! I've even added in mini ducks to the pool ^_^. So yeah that's what I've been up to this weekend, a super lazy chilled one. I think people have such fast paced lifestyles nowadays, particularly in the UK and we all need to appreciate some me time and relaxation.

What have you been up to this weekend?

Furry Friend TAG

So today I thought I'd officially introduce you to my pets by doing the furry friends tag. I don't usually like TAG videos, posts etc but I watched the lovely Stephanie from Stephanie Dreams video on her YouTube channel Stephanie Dreams Blog and felt oh so inspired! I'm going to be a super cool pet lady now I know.. Aaand I've kind of done it on both my animals because I'm just OH so cool!

1. What is your pets names?

Our dog is called Harry and our cat is called Zara (after the shop)

2. What kind of pet is it and what breed?

Harry is a springer spaniel crossed with a pointer, at least that' what we think! And Zara isn't any particular breed so we'll call her a Cypriot special ;-)

3. How long have you had your pets?

We've had Zara 8 months and Harry 7!

4. How did you get your pet?

Well we movd to Cyprus in September 2013 and knew there are a lot of stray animals here, although we didn't realise just how many. We were coming out of our local mall and Zara was i the car park and came meowing up to me. She was scrawny, scruffy, very hungry and just looked so helpless I scooped her up and took her home. We'd only been living here a maximum of two weeks when we got her and I didn't even like cats but I fell in love with her! We brought her home, fed her up and took care of her and now shes a lovely healthy girl. We called her Zara after the shop as there was a Zara shop at the mall we found her at, so obviously she was shopping...

The day we brought Zara home!

Harry was another sad story. He was a stray taken to a pound and was due to be put down. There was nothing wrong with him but the pounds get so full and inundated with strays they put them too sleep. I's so awful! Thankfully the day he was due to be put down a local lady who fosters dogs came in to see if there were any dogs she could foster and she chose Harry! She advertised him on a local Facebook page and again we fell in love. I have always always wanted a springer spaniel and it was fate I swear. Yes he's not a full springer but he's such a lovely boy!

5. How old are your pets?

Well as they're both strays we don't know for definite but the vet gauged their ages and Harry is now about 18 months old and Zara is coming up to a year.

6. What are some quirky things about your pets personality?

Harry never barks, he's such a quiet little hound and loves a tummy tickle as most dogs do. He weirdly doesn't cock his leg when he pees!? But maybe he's still in puppy mode, who knows!

Zara is a weirdo haha. She loves to sit and paw my fluffy dressing gown. I swear its like crack for cats or something, she looks SO happy when she does it!

7. What does your relationship with your pet mean to you?

My animals mean the world to me. It sounds really sad but they've been such great company whilst settling into living in a different place and also when Chris is away. I also feel so privileged to know we rescued them from potentially terrible fates and given them a loving home to be happy in.

8. What are some of your favourite past times with your pets?

With Harry I love rubbing his belly and sharing a bag of cheese puffs with him (a treat from time to time) and going on log walks in the sunshine and paddling in the sea!

With Zara I love cuddles, watching SATC (oh yeah) and taking naps together.

9. What nicknames do you call your pet?

We have more names for Harry which are: Hazza, Harold, Dunstable, Chocolate hound, Chocolate Dragon, Barry, Harry bon Barry

Zara: Kitty, Z, Zar Zar

Zara has been featured on Cats of Instagram- yes I am THAT cool haha!

Well I hope you liked this TAG post, I couldn't not do it quite frankly. I love my animals so much, they are now part of our little family and I would never be without them. If you do this tag please link me in the comments below and check out my Instagram account for more pet photos :-)

I've also ode a YouTube video:

The Sunday Post- how I spent my weekend

Evening all, hope you've all had a fun filled weekend!

I've been having a chilled one with my first week back in Cyprus proving to be a nice relaxing one, with a bit of wedding craft (blog post coming up soon) and some dog walking. There's a lovely little beach near to where we live and it's great to head down there for some fresh air and a doggy paddle!

Dress- thrifted (originally Primark)
Denim waistcoat- Primark
Rock sea shoes- eBay

PLEASE NOTE that those shoes are purely for the water and walking over the rocks! The hieght f fashion I know, but once I was out of the water I was back in my ballet pumps. The rock shoes are god damn hideous but practical for the daaaawg. I love this dress so much, it reminds me of seasides abroad and generally jolliness. I remember seeing it in Primark and ummed and arred about buying it. Then the next time I went in it had sold out- typical! My top tip with Primark is if you're not sure- get it anyway then decide when you get home.

Saturday night Chris and I decided to be super adult and make a den in our living room! Armed with blankets, throws and chairs, this is our creation! Of course fairy lights were added- it's not a proper den without fairy lights ye know..

It was of course an adult den as we equipped it with supplies of wine and chocolate...yum!! Our cat decided to join us too.. We had her spayed this week hence the cone of shame!

I would highly recommend making a den even if you are at the tender age of 25 like me. It's so much fun and makes a night in a bit more fun and silly but also romantic if you have a other half. We loved it and even put pics of it on Facebook which went down a treat! Everyone was totes jealous...

So that was our lazy lovely weekend, what did you guys get up to?

Beauty haul to come next week! Stay tuned!
