Little Black, little black, little black Chelsea Boooots!

Whats that? A blog post everyday for the last three days? I'm on a roll! Finally starting to perk up from the lergie and had a lovely surprise in the post today which you can probably guess from this post title...Chelsea boots! Yay!

I've been hunting for the perfect pair for a while now but at the right price. I'm quite picky when it comes to Chelsea boots especially after buying a disaster pair back in December which looked nice but were incredibly cheap- I should have known! They were allegedly a size 6 yet were very tight and after one wear the tongue on the back came unstuck- horrible! That and they were faux suede, a cheap nasty pair of boots. So with that in mind I wanted to find a good pair that will last me and not be too much money- I consulted the world of eBay and found these brand new beauties!

Now these are from a brand which I can't say I've ever purchased from. Well I say that but I've had shoes from them when I was about 5 and I tend to associate this company with old lady shoes? Any guesses? They're from Clarks! Surprised? Yeah me too. I tend to associate Clarks with school shoes for children. I can remember from a young age going in and having my feet measured and getting a pair of buckled shoes! They were cool I'll have you know! But yeah apart from that I see this brand as more about practicality than trend. Anyway getting back to the point, I think these are pretty stylish, my concept of Clarks has been somewhat altered and the best thing is I know these have been well made and will last. I don't know if they still stock these but I nabbed them for a cheeky £35.00 on eBay which I thought was pretty good going. The box says they're called "Mountain Lake" and they're real leather and SO comfy- again another perk from getting proper shoes, thanks Clarks! I know Chelsea boots aren't a new trend and not overly exciting anymore but they really do go with everything and as I tend to wear a lot of dresses, they're perfect. I'll get plenty of wear out of them and they really suit my styling. Be sure that they'll feature in many outfit of the days to come! So yeah, with that I urge you all to reconsider Clarks if you were like me and had a similar outlook. You never know, you may be surprised!

They even have a design on the bottom, similar to what I had on my buckle shoes all those years ago. They haven't lost their touch ;-).

Review | No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation

I have to review this product simply because in my opinion this is the best foundation I have ever used. Or atleast for my skin anyway! I heard about the new No7 colour matching service around the end of summer and was very much intruiged to see if it actually works. I went to the No7 counter in Boots for a consultation which is very quick and easy. They take off your foundation from your jaw line on each side of your face, place the little camera device doo dar thingy on your face in these areas and it takes lots of little images of your skin before determining the shade. My shade came out as "cool vanilla" which did surprise me as I'd never really thought my skin tone was cool but hey.

The assistant then asked what skin type I have which is very oily! The newly launched No7 foundation range caters for different skin types, so they meet different people's needs. She recommended the 'Beautifully Matte' foundation and applied it to my jaw line and I was blown away at how well it blended into my skin, especially between my neck and my face. No more worrying about foundation not blending between the two, horrah! I was sold there and then and purchased my first bottle at £12. Before that I'd bought cheap foundations generally from collection 2000 which I didn't think were bad and I was happy with the price which is around £5? So £12 to me seemed quite a bit more but it definitely lasts much much longer. I purchased my first bottle in October and didn't start my next bottle until February/ March? That's pretty good going in my book for a foundation to last that long seeing as I wear it practically everyday.

I think I pretty much love everything about this formulation. It glides well onto the skin and is easy to blend. I use fingers to apply it as I find sponges soak up the product thus meaning you run out quicker. The finish on the skin is lovely and matte but not cakey, with a dewy look to it. I do powder over the top due to the fact that my skin is so so oily but for people with less oily skin you could get away without powdering. It has a slight scent to it which I like but its not too fragrant and the foundation is buildable- a little bit goes a long way. I can use one pump for my entire face for an eveyrday light/medium coverage or one and half pumps for a fuller coverage and it has SPF 15 in it which I love, being conscious of sun exposure n'all. The only thing I will say which for me isn't the case is it does state on the bottle "up to 14 hours shine free complexion", but as I say I have terribly oily shiney skin so I'm not surpised. It does stay matte for a good few hours though before I have to powder again and does stay on my skin all day.

So yeah! That's my rave on this foundation. I totally love it and I can't see me using any other foundations now. Why would I want to when it does everything I need and is the perfect colour? I'll be heading back into Boots for another consultation in spring/ summer to get a match for my summer skin (if we get any sunshine mind). I'm yet to try out the concealer as thats pretty pricey and I'm quite happy with my cheap £1.99 collection 2000.

I'm a student orthodontic dental technician, so I make appliances to move people's teeth ^_^. I finish my degree this year whoop!

To qualify and finish uni, then move in with my boyfriend. I've never lived with a boy before, exciting stuff :-).

Flu & Chelsea Girl Outfit Post

So after planning and looking forward to making a few new YouTube videos and blog posts this weekend, it seems that won't be happening. Since Wednesday I've been suffering with the flu and have barely any energy which sucks. Just the idea of even doing my hair and looking human just makes me feel exhausted! Thankfully my boyfriend has rescheduled his weekend and is coming home tonight to look after me. (I'm feeling very sorry for myself!) So in light of this hiccough I have decided to post an outfit I put together in January which I'm still loving and wearing. I hope you like it but I can only apologise for the photographs not being 100%. I've since purchased a new camera and plan to take photos for outfit posts with a more mutual background as well as close ups on accessories.

I love this outfit, mainly for the accessories- the hat, the little ankle socks and the collar tips give it an edge. I am totally in love with this coat from River Island which I got in the sale. It was originally £70 and I nabbed it for £35 which I thought was pretty good going. It looks great with a fur collar too and is oversized which is great for layering. The heel on the Chelsea boots is just right that you can wear them all day. They're such a versatile piece and go with so many things!
